Cookie Policy — Pour Trail
Manage your choices
Cookie preferences
Change which cookies Pour Trail can set on your device — at any time, on any device. Your choice is stored locally and applied before any analytics or marketing scripts run.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser when you visit a website. They are used to remember preferences, keep you signed in, and collect analytics about how the site is used. This policy explains the cookies Pour Trail uses and how you can control them.
2. Your Choices
The first time you visit Pour Trail you will see a consent banner. You can:
- Accept all — we load analytics and marketing cookies.
- Reject optional — only strictly necessary cookies are set.
- Customize — choose categories individually.
You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences button at the top of this page.
Until you make a choice, we default all optional cookies to denied using Google's Consent Mode v2, so Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager do not track you.
3. Cookies We Use
Strictly necessary (always on)
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
pt_session | Keeps you signed in after using Google or Apple Sign In. Scoped to .pourtrail.com. | 30 days |
g_state, g_verifier, g_next | Short-lived PKCE state for Google Sign In. Deleted immediately after login finishes. | 10 minutes |
a_state, a_nonce, a_next | Short-lived state for Apple Sign In. Deleted immediately after login finishes. | 10 minutes |
pt_consent_v1 (localStorage) | Remembers your cookie preferences so we do not ask again on every visit. | Until cleared |
| Cloudflare security | Cloudflare may set cookies to protect the site from malicious traffic (DDoS, bot filtering). These are required for the site to function. | Session or 30 days |
Analytics (off until you consent)
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes unique visitors. | 2 years |
_ga_<container-id> | Google Analytics 4 | Stores session state for GA4. | 2 years |
_gid | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes users across a 24-hour window. | 24 hours |
These cookies are set by Google Analytics 4 via Google Tag Manager. They help us understand which festivals and guides people visit so we can improve the site. They are only set if you choose "Accept all" or enable Analytics in Customize.
Marketing & personalization (off until you consent)
We do not currently run any marketing or advertising cookies. If we add them later, they will be covered by this category and off by default until you opt in.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Some pages link to or embed third-party content — Google Maps, Eventbrite, YouTube, Beehiiv newsletter forms. If you interact with that embedded content, those services may set their own cookies, subject to their own privacy and cookie policies. We do not control these cookies.
Sign In with Google and Sign In with Apple redirect you to Google and Apple directly for authentication. Google and Apple may set cookies on their own domains during that flow — we do not control them. See the Google Privacy Policy and Apple Privacy Policy.
5. How We Respect Your Choice
Pour Trail uses Google Consent Mode v2. Before any Google script sends data, we default all consent signals (analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization) to denied. When you make a choice in the banner, we update those signals and Google's scripts honor them automatically.
6. Browser-Level Control
In addition to our banner, you can always manage cookies from your browser:
Note: blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in and form submissions.
7. Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC header, we treat it as a "Do Not Sell or Share" signal for the purposes of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if our cookie use changes. When we make meaningful changes we will revise the "Last updated" date and, if required, re-prompt visitors for consent.
