The story

About this festival.

Crush Challenge Napa Valley is a one-day charity food, wine and cycling event in Yountville, California, hosted by the deLeuze Family Charitable Foundation and ZD Wines, whose centerpiece for wine lovers is the Food & Wine Garden at North Yountville Park. The 12th annual edition was Saturday, August 15, 2026, with the garden open from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. The $150 all-inclusive ticket covered tastings from ten Napa Valley vintners and ten restaurants, an ice-cold beer option, a live band and a silent auction of top-tier wines and experiences. It is a small tasting by Napa standards, and that is the appeal: ten producers pouring properly, in a park, for a cause.

The morning is a separate cycling ride, registered through BikeReg, with 17-, 25- and 35-mile routes through vineyard-lined avenues that meet at Veterans Memorial Park at 8 AM and roll at 9:15, finishing at the garden. Since its founding in 2014, Crush Challenge has donated 100 percent of net proceeds to the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Teen Center at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Napa Valley.

Yountville is the restaurant town of the Napa Valley, ten minutes north of the city of Napa on Highway 29, and mid-August is early harvest, when the first sparkling-wine grapes come in. The organizers publish the participating vintners and restaurants on crushchallenge.org ahead of each edition.
