The story

About this festival.

Wine Festival of Central Florida is a grand tasting event held annually in spring in Lakeland, Florida — featuring over 150 wines from select vineyards, food samplings from more than 30 local chefs and restaurants, craft beers, and liquor tastings. The festival takes place on the Frances Langford Promenade, an open-air venue on Lake Mirror in downtown Lakeland, with live entertainment throughout the evening. Proceeds benefit Alliance for Independence, a nonprofit that has served Polk County adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities for nearly 70 years.

Since 2008, the Wine Festival of Central Florida has grown into one of Lakeland's established spring events. The promenade setting allows guests to stroll between wine, beer, and liquor stations while sampling gourmet food offerings under the stars. The festival welcomes both experienced wine drinkers and newcomers, with a mix of fine wines, craft beers, and select spirits designed to appeal across experience levels.

The event is currently postponed from its previously scheduled March date due to unforeseen circumstances; Alliance for Independence will announce the rescheduled date on their website. Lakeland sits between Tampa and Orlando, making the festival accessible to visitors from both regions. For updates and ticket information, contact Alliance for Independence at [email protected] or visit their website.
