The story

About this festival.

Kirkwood Wine Stroll is an annual wine walk and community fundraiser held each fall in Atlanta's Kirkwood neighborhood — with more than 50 participating local businesses pouring samples of red, white, rosé, and sparkling wine across a 3-hour evening event. Organized by the Kirkwood Business Owners' Association (KBOA), which was established in 2007, the stroll has grown into the neighborhood's signature annual gathering, with the 2026 edition scheduled for Saturday, September 12. Tickets for a recent edition were available for $50 (plus tax and processing fees).

What sets the Kirkwood Wine Stroll apart is its walkable, neighborhood-embedded format: rather than gathering in a single venue, guests move through Kirkwood's business districts, stopping into local shops and restaurants to collect wine samples. Three stages of live music from local bands animate the route, and a DJ stage adds to the atmosphere. All Kirkwood restaurants remain open for full dining during the event, and food bite stations are stationed throughout the area where guests can purchase small plates directly. Businesses along the route also offer specials, discounts, and prize drawings.

Each ticket includes a souvenir wine glass — newly designed each year by the KBOA — along with a program and access to all wine pouring stations. Check-in runs from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at two locations on Hosea Williams Drive; the stroll ends promptly at 10:00 pm. There is no designated parking, so organizers recommend arriving by MARTA, rideshare, bike, or on foot. Tickets are noted as limited and have sold out in advance in past years. The event is rain or shine, and no refunds are issued.

Proceeds support the KBOA's operating fund, Kirkwood's business district beautification, and local nonprofits — in 2023, the organization donated $2,000 each to 3 local nonprofits. The Kirkwood Wine Stroll is now in its 19th year, reflecting nearly two decades of community-rooted programming in one of Atlanta's historic intown neighborhoods.
