The story

About this festival.

Leland Wine & Food Festival is an annual food and wine festival held each June at Leland Harbor in Leland, Michigan — a waterfront event featuring wines from 7 or more Leelanau Peninsula wineries, local food vendors, and live music. General admission tickets are $35 in advance or $45 at the gate, and each ticket includes a commemorative wine glass and 2 tasting tokens. The 2026 festival is scheduled for June 13, 2026. All proceeds benefit the Leland Chamber of Commerce, funding community beautification projects and visitor resources.

The festival takes place at Leland Harbor, on the Leelanau Peninsula about 25 to 30 miles from Traverse City. Confirmed wineries for 2025 included Good Harbor Winery, Aurora Cellars, Bel Lago, French Valley Vineyards, Dune Bird Winery, Shady Lane, and Laurentide Winery, among others. Stormcloud Brewery represented craft beer. Food vendors included Pleva's, Village Cheese Shanty, The Cove, and Locals Lake Leelanau, among others. A notable feature is the 'Come & Go' re-entry wristband system, which lets attendees leave the festival grounds to visit Leland's beaches, boutiques, galleries, and the Historic Fishtown district before returning. Live entertainment runs throughout the day.

General admission includes a wine glass and 2 tasting tokens; attendees can add 10 more tokens for $30, or purchase individual tokens inside for $3.50 each. Non-drinkers and guests under 21 may enter for $15 at the gate. The festival is 21+ for alcohol, but non-alcoholic beverages are available. Food and beer purchases are cash-only, so plan ahead. No coolers, outside food or beverages, pets, strollers, or tents are permitted on the festival grounds.

Leland sits on the Leelanau Peninsula AVA, one of Michigan's most established wine-growing regions. The peninsula's proximity to Lake Michigan moderates temperatures and extends the growing season, supporting cool-climate varieties including Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir. The wineries represented at the festival draw from this same viticultural tradition, making the event a practical way to sample the range of producers working within the AVA in a single afternoon.
